Arne Hovmand-Olsen
Model 480 Lounge Chair
Alf. Juul Rasmussen’s Polstermøbelfabrik, Denmark, 1950s

An exceptionally rare lounge chair by Arne Hovmand-Olsen, model 480, produced in the 1950s by Alf. Juul Rasmussen’s Polstermøbelfabrik in Denmark.
This model is scarcely seen on the market and is considered a highly collectible piece of mid-century Danish design.

The chair features Hovmand-Olsen’s signature sculptural lines, the distinctive textile “wings” along the armrests, and elegant, angled solid oak legs. The teak armrest ends add a warm contrast and highlight the refined craftsmanship.

Professionally restored and reupholstered by our in-house team of cabinetmakers and upholsterers, using Hallingdal by Kvadrat—one of the world’s most iconic wool textiles, known for its durability, texture, and timeless expression.
The seat is upholstered in a grey melange Hallingdal with black piping, while the backrest and arm sections are completed in deep black Hallingdal, creating a sophisticated and thoughtfully balanced aesthetic.
